There is a place for them in a comprehensive pain management plan and are relatively safe if taken exactly as prescribed and while under the care of a pain management doctor. There are side effects such as nausea and constipation, and there is always the risk of addiction as the result of abusing the medications. But there is a difference between addiction, which is the mental need for the drugs to feel high, and dependence, which is the body's reliance on the substance after prolonged, appropriate use. But, when you are ready to come off the medication, the same doctor that put you on them can safely taper them down for you so that you do not feel withdrawals.

Girlfriend Drugs/Alcohol Lie?

I've been with this girl for about 6 months and she has a history of drug and alcohol use.. Just recently she told me she used (coke) but she said she hasn't used in about a year.. then more recently while I was with her at a bar with her friends, she went to the bathroom with some guy and when they came out, I asked her what was going on and she said she was buying for her friend that was with us. I asked her if that was the truth and she told me that she did not do anything, just purchased.. is this a blatant lie? I know drinking is the problem behind a lot of this and she told me she would totally cut back and not drink as much.. she seems fine when she has a couple just at like dinner but when she's out with friends it gets out of hand..which leads to bad things.. and I'm not sure if I believe her when she said she hasn't used in a year.. there have been signs in the past where i think she may be on pills or something else.. will this continue or is there hope?

I really dont like college so far?

I came to college imagining it quite different. I imaged people studying...wrong. I imagined no highschool bullshit.....wrong. I also imagined grown ups.....wrong. Its thursday night and my college is loud as ****. The dorm rooms are being bombarded by loud obnoxious people on my floor that I kind of like but mostly dont. I really like to go out and drink but holy crap my roommate goes out at least 2 times a week, gets hammered and then has with this guy shes kind of dating but kind of not. My best friend from high school has not really met anyone and hates her roommate so we spent a lot of time together...and now shes getting on my nerves. if your trying to be good at sprinting and long distance your really only ever to get so far with both of them. you can't do them both to the best of your ability. i've noticed this first hand from running cross-country and then changing to sprinting in track, your sprint won't be as fast :( but if you just focus on one then you can get that one really good and just make the other one decent at least! hope this helped

What is the life expectancy for people born with cerebral palsy?

My brother is now 27 years old and was born with cerebral palsy. He is totally dependent on my parents for everything, but he walks ( not very balanced), but does not speak and has a mind of a 1 year old or less. He eats food but needs istance, needs to be bathed and all personal care. He has had many convulsion lately, and he is on a strong anticonvulsive med. The dr. just upgraded his dose, which makes him very drowsy and constipated, amongst other reactions. He has been very aggressive lately, trying to punch and kick, pinch people on the street, so my parents hardly take him anywhere anymore. (They don't live in the U.S., and they depend on public transportation). He does not go to therapy or school because he's ped the age in the country. He breaks things at home a lot. My parents are in their late 60's and are very tired of caring for him, but they love him and continue to do so. I suggested hiring a caregiver for a few hours a day, because then my parents could at least take a break. When my parents die, I will be his tutor, but I have no clue what is going to happen then. I am 35, married with a life of my own, working, going to college, and I live in the U.S. I am a U.S. citizen now. A friend told me not to worry so much because my brother should not live too long (I know, that wasn't too nice). But at the same time, I think of what life will be like caring for him on my own. Do you have experience with people with cerebral palsy and if so, could you give me some suggestions? Thank you!

Tooth infection and extraction tomorrow?

Ive had a severe tooth infection for 10 days, antibiotics have helped but im still in alot of pain.... tomorrow im going back to the dentist to have the tooth removed... im worried as i know the anasthetic doesnt work very well on infected teeth, so im worried about the pain.. but ive noticed the infected tooth is quite wobbly (its my upper 2nd molar)... its not overly loose, but if i grip it, i can wobble it (although not anymore as its too painful to touch).... will it being loose make the extraction easier? and has it become loose because of the infection? thanks

That's the whole argument for waiting a few weeks before coming out with the first polls. If that were the case, LSU probably would be number one. Personally I felt that VTech was overrated and Death Valley is one of the most hostile environments so I'm not suprised LSU blew them out. If LSU can run the gaundlet that is the SEC undefeated then I believe they'll leapfrog USC. Nothing against USC, I think they have ridiculous talent, it's just their schedule doesn't stack up although USC's toughest games are all on the road this year. Right now I'd still give LSU the #1 vote because they've been the most impressive, with OU #2 but the Trojans will get their chance next week. How do you tile over existing tiles? any tradesman?

Done this many times. As long as your base tile is down tight and CLEAN and dry. You do need a good thin set mortar. And I mean good..You don t need to sand the top of tile or screed a top coat. The one main trick nobody seems to do that I always insist on when I do the job is that there will bo no traffic on the tile for a minimum of 2 days. So easy to shear the bond on thin set going over tile since it take a longer time for thin set to dry under these conditions. Any questions you can e mail me GL

there may be another wall between your wall and the neighbors wall....this middle wall is the fire wall....your wall should be 5/8 inch drywall ....how much of the wall are u replacing....if just cutting out the wet section towards the bottom of the wall ( maybe a few inches up ) then nothing special to do. no screw pattern needed... cut out bad section and replace that section ....screw or nail....tape and mud....thers nothing special about a fire wall except its thickness

Really feeling depressed about a surprise 3rd baby please help...?

im 8 weeks pregnant with my 3rd baby i have a 3 year old and a just 1 year old. Me and my husband decided we werent having anymore he has been booked in for a vasectomy and i have given everything baby away i have no maternity clothes left either!! So it has come as a real shock. Sounds like they are thinking that might be something, bc I too had to do a 24 hr urine test, bunch of blood work, crap loads of ultrasounds, and etc. Thats what my doctor was testing me for was pre-eclampsia, she thought I might have that bc I basically have all the signs, high BP, some protien in my urine, migraines, seeins and brisk reflexes. But my urine is always coming back ok with normal amounts of protien in it. So i have been having to go to the doc twice a week since January. Talk to your doc about it. Good luck and dont worry if it was something major I believe that they would tell you even though they should tell you no matter what. i would insist that I know what is going on with me and my baby.

well first things first. You won't get salmonella (food poisoning) from a fish tank. I'm sure everybody will be 100% fine and if they're not i can ume i doubt very much it would be from the fish tank. So many times i have started a siphon with my mouth and got water in my mouth with no ill effects. One thing that people can get from fish tanks is fish tuberculosis but it is very unlikely so don't panic. Although admitedly i wouldn't be keen on drinking fish tank water don't be alarmed by any minute risk.

I don't think so. i got rid of a roomate who wasn't on the lease. Gave her a month and she didn't leave so I put all of her stuff outside and changed the lock. She came by and just quietly took her stuff and never came back and I never heard from her again.(She was almost a hooker, which I didn't know until she moved in and had diff guys over every night which I thought was dangerous and she had to go). Ooh, he's getting old and maybe a little ornery! I'd get him to the vet to make sure he's healthy. If you have already, I'd say he's probably bored and playing to keep himself entertained. Keep an eye on the old guy. Lots of times, the older ones are inactive, so you're lucky with him keeping active. If his deafness is new, he's freaking out a little, so maybe you can keep him distracted or at least tire him out with visual toys, like a feather fishing pole or a laser light. Good luck!

Hey Guys, I met this girl over myspace and she was very religious like me and she invited me to come to her church almost three weeks ago.
