Can missing pills make you miss a period?

I've missed a few pills in the past two months, and have missed two periods. Two months ago I only missed one, and this past month, I missed like 3.. all at separate times. Could this be the reason I havent got my period? Ive taken a pregnancy test, about a month ago, and it came back negative.
