A catholic pope initially made the connection between Mary Magdalene and a woman who was to be stoned in the bible. It was his umption Mary was a prostitute. Later, biblical "scholars" agree that the historical figure of Mary M was not the prostitute of the bible... However, so many people have been taught that, it is hard for them to change their perceptions...
